Irene Graupeter, a teacher at a school in the Palatinate, falls victim to a treacherous murder attempt. Shortly thereafter, a professor is murdered. During his investigations, Commissioner Wolfram Tannenberg uncovers connections to a bank robbery carried out by the RAF in the 1970s in Kaiserslautern, during which a police officer was shot. Tannenberg takes up residence at the school, where his brother and his brother's wife also work. Suddenly, both find themselves in the crosshairs of the investigators.
