Bern, in the summer. Detective Heinrich Müller and his partner Nicole Himmel are invited to a barbecue hosted by the artist F. K. Swiss. At the party, a surreal art object is presented that serves as a bratwurst grill. For the amusement of the guests, a sausage queen is also elected. When Müller goes to pick up the winner, he finds her stabbed in a garden shed. The next morning, the police discover a second body: the sales manager of a large butcher shop.
