Product details

What does the present mean and how does the self-revelation of the Holy Spirit take place? Michael Böhnke uses the often rather vague statements in theology as an opportunity for a thorough and clarifying investigation. A phenomenological analysis provides access to the spirit-determined nature of human action. Engaging with actions that implicitly assume a determination by the Holy Spirit (epiclesis, prophetic speech, praise, ecstasy) reveals contours of the uniqueness of the Holy Spirit. Böhnke systematically develops these contours in accordance with biblical testimony, leading to the definition of the Holy Spirit as a person. The highly relevant pneumatology presented here opens new perspectives for the doctrine of the Church, the hope for completion, and an ecumenical understanding of the Trinity.
