The proportion of songs in multipart harmony and multilingual songs has been increased. For example, Taizé chants are now more prominently featured. The overall appearance has been changed: red color elements in the print layout enhance clarity. Three colored picture plates featuring works of visual art help to visually divide the book into its larger sections. The new Gotteslob provides inspiration for faith life in private and family settings. It includes templates for family devotions or prompts for private or communal Bible reading, similar to the old Gotteslob.
