Analyses of the multi-level perspective, governance, and coordination are discussed in this anthology both theoretically and through contributions to research findings. The contributions cover various levels, actors, and topics from the education systems of Germany and Switzerland. The focus is on governance and coordination from the macro to the micro level, as well as developmental processes at the municipal level and within schools. Theoretically reflective and empirical contributions differentiate the concept of the multi-level system by making the possibilities and challenges of action coordination comprehensible as dynamic processes in different contexts.
