The book illustrates the roots, methodology, and position of Somatic Experiencing (SE) within the therapeutic landscape and in various fields of trauma processing. This is exemplified in the work with addiction, dissociation, medical trauma, patient groups, children, in global disaster response efforts, and in supporting caregivers. A common thread throughout all contributions in the book is the focus on working with the nervous system, restoring regulatory capacity, and building resilience. All essays and interviews address the biological fundamental need to feel safe and secure. The initial spark for the development of the book was the 2nd European Conference on Somatic Experiencing (SE) and the enthusiasm and joy with which so many German-speaking and international speakers embraced the idea of showcasing the richness of SE.
