Product details

Study paper from 1999 in the field of Politics - Political Theory and History of Ideas, grade: 1.0, Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, course: Basic Course III: Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, 21 sources in the bibliography, language: German.

Abstract: This paper aims to examine John Locke's property theory, which at first glance appears surprisingly clear and coherent, particularly under the thesis that his assumption of a surplus situation is more significant and fundamental for interpretation than often assumed. To this end, after considering the predecessors and foundations of his property theory, the implications of the surplus assumption will be explored. Finally, some principal criticisms of Locke's property theory will be discussed.
