Product details

Study paper from 2007 in the field of German Studies - Modern German Literature, grade: 1.7, University of Karlsruhe (TH), course: Bertolt Brecht: Book of Changes, 15 sources in the bibliography, language: German.

Abstract: Lai Tu said to Kin Jeh: I love you so, what will become of me? This sentence marks the beginning of a short and simultaneously the last aphorism that Bertolt Brecht wrote to Lai Tu, alias Ruth Berlau, in 1955. Yet, even these few words are characteristic of many facets of the relationship between Berlau and Brecht. Ruth Berlau worked as an actress, director, writer, and photographer; at the same time, she was a committed communist and known in her home country of Denmark as "Red Ruth." Primarily, however, the name Ruth Berlau will always be associated with that of Brecht.
