Abstract: Two worlds, two planets: Urras and Anarres. Ursula K. Le Guin's "The Dispossessed" tells the story of two civilizations that, stemming from a common origin, developed vastly different values and societal attitudes: capitalism and anarchism. Accepting each other, the two cultures are only connected through trade and their originally shared history, coexisting side by side. Shevek, the brilliant young physicist from Anarres, is on the verge of completing a general field theory for temporal physics that would enable interstellar travel without time delay, since the arrival of the last settlers.
