In Chapter 2 of this paper, the fundamental terminology is first defined, and the regulatory capital and its significance in lending are explained in more detail. Chapter 3 presents the current regulations and future changes. In addition to changes in the requirements for future capital ratios, other influencing factors on the change in regulatory capital are also discussed here. Chapter 4 examines the effects of these changes on German major banks and outlines possible consequences for lending. A conclusion wraps up this paper in Chapter 5.
