Abstract: Youth crime is a highly discussed topic in today's society. This paper examines whether the influences of the parental home can contribute to youth becoming criminal, or whether parents can prevent their children from going down a criminal path. Starting with a definition of youth crime, the causes are explored through various theories. Finally, the emergence of youth crime will be examined more closely in order to identify potential prevention strategies.
