Research paper from 2021 in the field of Social Work - Child and Youth Welfare, grade: 2.3, Fliedner University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, course: Sociology in Social Work, language: German.
Abstract: What causes particularly young people to show increasing interest in right-wing movements? This paper aims to demonstrate the reasons why young individuals join the far-right scene. Another component of the work seeks to clarify how prevention and deradicalization efforts can intervene in this context. The question is explored as to why young people join extremist groups and whether there are specific methods that can facilitate their exit from these groups. The focus here is on neo-Nazism.
As an introduction to the topic, the emphasis of this paper in Chapter 2 is initially on defining terms, in order to address the main topic, incorporating possible causes and the emergence of radicalization and right-wing extremism, as well as a more detailed description of neo-Nazi organizations. The radicalization processes among young people are significant here, which can also be explained through theoretical approaches. The final chapter provides a conclusive examination of the topic.
The issue of right-wing extremism is a prominent problem in today's society. It frequently attracts significant attention in politics and the media due to the ongoing confrontations between right-wing extremists and foreigners. In light of the current refugee policy, right-wing extremist groups have once again spread. New groups are being formed, and the public relations efforts of right-wing thinkers are intensifying. Young people play an important role in this scene, as they are expected to become the next generation of right-wing extremists.
