This offers new opportunities to relieve or even partially reduce human staff. However, to what extent robots can be the future of human care, what barriers they must overcome for widespread implementation, and what tasks care robots can take on will be addressed in the following annotations.

The age structure is continuously evolving, especially in Germany, towards an aging society. This means that there are more and more elderly individuals who will likely need care at some point. Consequently, the current problems in the facilities and homes responsible for care are increasingly deteriorating.
