Abstract: Cultural vacation in the bathing and surfing paradise of Kusadasi! This is what characterizes this holiday region on the Turkish Aegean coast. Today, it's time for swimming or surfing in the azure sea, and tomorrow we head inland for an excursion. This book presents the cultural highlights of the Kusadasi region, located about 80 km south of Izmir, in words and images. Here, one encounters the remnants of ancient cities, ports, or temples that have been uncovered by archaeologists, providing a window into antiquity and the Roman era, as well as Byzantine times. The geographically, historically, archaeologically, and geologically oriented cultural travel guide is intended to be a valuable resource for these excursions. We embark on our first excursion from Kusadasi, which is introduced in Chapter Three.
