Product details

Almost always, educational processes take place in groups. In order for the developmental and educational potentials of the group to unfold, the feelings, thoughts, and actions of the individuals within the network of the group must be taken into account. Group analysis provides an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the affective and social dimensions of the group. Drawing from insights of psychoanalytic education as well as recent developments in psycho- and group-analytic theory, the author develops the concept of group-analytic pedagogy. Initially, the theoretical foundation is established through the themes of affect regulation, group process, and group leadership. Based on this foundation, the author elaborates on the application of group analysis in educational settings, such as in the design of an affect-friendly group culture or in scenic understanding.
