The textbook is aimed at non-Japanese specialists who wish to learn the Japanese language in adulthood. It has been tested for many years at the language learning center of TU Dresden. The textbook provides language learners with an overview of the Japanese language and its basic structure. Additionally, it offers students a solid foundation in Japanese, upon which they can further develop their acquired skills in reading, speaking, writing, and listening. To this end, the textbook includes columns and explanations that highlight the hidden peculiarities of the Japanese language and draw attention to the differences and similarities in the ways of thinking and linguistic actions in both cultures.
