The most detailed presentation of Pyrrhonism is found in the writings of Sextus Empiricus. Among the historical forms of skepticism, Pyrrhonism is the most thoroughly developed. At the same time, we find in Pyrrhonism the most consistent expression of the interpretation of existence from the late antiquity. Therefore, studying its doctrine provides a good aid in tracing the tendencies that helped Christianity to emerge; for they are most easily grasped where they have been most effective.
