Beginners in psychiatry and psychosomatics often have to lead groups without being trained for it. This teaching and learning book conveys the fundamentals of group therapy based on the Göttingen model. This concept, which has been continuously developed for forty years, works with various forms of groups and refers to the special interactional character within the group. Examples and questions encourage the reader to apply what they have learned in daily practice. The application of the Göttingen model allows for addressing the different clinical pictures. Corresponding modifications of group therapy have been developed. The experiences compiled in this book come from the regular training and continuing education sessions of the Göttingen Working Group for the Application of Psychoanalysis in Groups and take into account current research.
