"Learning from Las Vegas" is the name of a research project about the commercial American city, conducted in 1968 by architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, along with their assistant Steven Izenour and students from Yale University. This project resulted in the publication of "Learning from Las Vegas" in 1972. The book marked a paradigm shift in architectural theory. Venturi and Scott Brown incorporated categories of the ordinary, the ugly, the context, and the social into the discussion, thereby expanding the field of architecture.
