The largely preserved old town of Güstrow, located about 40 kilometers south of Rostock, amazes its visitors with the multitude of impressive buildings from the Gothic, Renaissance, and Classicism periods, which have been meticulously restored in recent years and now shine more beautifully than ever. A visit to the sculptures of Ernst Barlach in the Gertruden Chapel and in his studio house by Lake Inselsee leaves a lasting impression.
