Product details

In German criminal history, the case of Fritz Haarmann (1879-1925) is unparalleled: Between September 1918 and June 1924, amidst the turmoil of the post-war period and inflation, he killed at least 24 young men in Hanover by biting through their carotid arteries in a fit of passion. "Hardly ever has a significant trial been conducted in such an incompetent, petty, and foolish manner." Theodor Lessing, who published his book "Haarmann - The Story of a Werewolf" in 1925, criticized the death sentence handed down to Haarmann and questioned his mental competency. He believed that his "presentation of the criminal case would outlive the court records and must lead to a reopening of the proceedings in any thinking and researching minds." This book is a continuation of the previously published volume "The Haarmann-.".
