Information about the Author
Allan Bloom, 1930-1992, was a professor of social sciences at the University of Chicago. He was the author of many books, including the bestseller "The Closing of the American Mind." Adam Kirsch is a poet and critic whose work regularly appears in the New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, Tablet, and other publications. Kirsch, who has published three collections of poetry and several books on criticism and biography, lives in New York City.
