Product details

On March 5, 1933, a group of KPD members met in the Moscow apartment of Elsa and Hermann Taubenberger, some of whom already knew each other from the time of the Munich Soviet Republic. Engineer Taubenberger had a private radio, and they followed and discussed the results of the Reichstag elections in Germany together. After an official party investigation, several participants from that election night came under the scrutiny of the Stalinist secret police in 1935 due to a denunciation. A summary prepared by the NKVD listed 70 individuals or connections who were arrested, tortured, sent to the Gulag, or shot in Moscow since 1936 based on the principle of guilt by association as participants in the so-called counter-revolutionary, Trotskyist-terrorist organization led by Erich Wollenberg and Max Hoelz. Reinhard Müller has conducted years of research on this topic.
