With the arrival of bachelor Peter Hynd in the neighboring village, peace and rural tranquility come to an end. The extremely charming man sparks fierce rivalry among the women of the village. Police Constable Hamish Macbeth initially finds these catfights simply entertaining. After all, he is not easily manipulated. But then suddenly there are mentions of death threats and abuse.
