The hand is the organ of organs, the instrument of instruments in the human body. It is quite evident. Who doesn't know this saying? And everyone has examined their own hand with its complex lines at least once. But what do these lines mean? What do they reveal about a person's character, fate, past, present, and future? Gustav W. Gessmann was an officer of the Danilo Order (founded in 1853) and compiled this work as a brief overview of the teachings established by chiromancers for interpreting hand shapes. Chirosophy, the science of the hand, deals with the significance of hand shape and the signs found on the palm. The application of data derived from hand shape and palm to make predictions about future life events of the individual in question is called chiromancy, or palmistry.
