The present volume of the Butterflies of Germany is dedicated to the micro-moths. All native micro-moths are treated in a brief summary. I did not find it appropriate to select only the most common species for detailed treatment. In the description of the species, the peculiarities of the forewings have preferably been used as distinguishing features. For the sake of space, a detailed description had to be omitted. However, the provided information will generally be sufficient for species identification, especially when their biology is taken into account. Special emphasis is placed on describing the development and lifestyle, which is why the caterpillars and, in some cases, the pupae are also briefly described. This book addresses the biology and economic significance.
