The memoirs of the Foreign Minister under Napoleon, Prince Talleyrand, were published in 1891. They were intended to serve as a justification for his politics and actions. Rosenthal bases this book on the chapters of the memoirs that deal with the foreign policy of imperial France between 1797 and 1808: the ministry from 1797 to 1807, the Spanish intrigue of 1807/8, and the meeting between Napoleon and Tsar Alexander in 1808 in Erfurt. High-quality reprint of the original edition from 1905.
