Product details
The German ancient historian and epigrapher Otto Hirschfeld (1843 - 1922) focused particularly on Latin epigraphy. He published several volumes of the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum, especially concerning the inscriptions of Gaul and the two German provinces. He also explored this geographical area in his research, as well as numerous questions related to Roman administrative history. The present work consists of three parts, in which the author provides a detailed examination of the Gallic inscriptions, inscription forgeries, and additionally discusses the fire brigade in Roman country towns.
