Logic is the science of the rules of thinking. This statement is ambiguous. Under the rules of thinking, we can first understand the necessary rules of the thinkability of things, the necessary rules under which the essence of things exists, only insofar as it is thinkable. According to what will be demonstrated later, such knowledge of necessary and general laws of the essence of things is philosophical. Secondly, we can also understand the laws as the laws according to which our human mind thinks. Here, we would not be talking about the necessary laws of the essence of things, but only about the laws of our thinking, i.e., about the particular activity of our mind. Thus, philosophical, demonstrative logic differs from anthropological logic; the former is the science of analytical knowledge.
