Product details
The German Arabian researcher Leo Hirsch made an attempt in 1888 to find a route from Aden to the mysterious Hadramaut. In December 1892, he landed again in Aden with the same goal in mind. After unsuccessful efforts to penetrate from various points in the south into the interior, he was finally able to set out from Makalla in 1893. During his journey, he collected a variety of plants, which are explained in the appendix. With this captivating travelogue, Hirsch takes the reader on a scientific expedition through largely unknown paths and indigenous peoples. This book is a reprint of the long out-of-print original edition from 1897.
