The Danish writer and naturalist Karl Ewald (1856-1908) gained fame primarily through his animal and plant fairy tales, as well as the two educational books "My Little Boy" and "My Big Girl." In addition, he created numerous shorter prose pieces, of which this volume presents a selection.
