Georg Daniel Eduard Weyer (1818-1896) was a German mathematician and astronomer. After studying in Berlin, he worked as an assistant at the Hamburg Observatory. Following his doctorate at the University of Kiel, he became a full professor in 1859. Later, he served as a teacher at the Naval School and the Naval Academy. Weyer published numerous papers and worked in the fields of navigation, geometry, and astronomy. This is a high-quality reprint of the original edition from 1871.
