The comprehensive handbook on fiber-reinforced composites with a polymer matrix: Composite materials, and particularly fiber-reinforced polymers, have developed into an independent group of materials and have moved beyond the niche of exclusive high-performance materials. New applications are shaping the image and clearly indicate a direction towards consistent lightweight construction technologies in larger quantities. This, along with some important new developments in the production of fiber-reinforced plastics, necessitated the revision and updating of this standard work. New process developments were taken into account, especially when they show high implementation potential and an imminent industrial introduction. The interfaces of processing technology with the materials and construction methods used are discussed. An overview of all modern processes is included.
