Product details
Room - according to Goethe, no poet can write poems here without reservation. The path that Jan Wagner has chosen during his year at Villa Massimo to utilize tradition as a source of inspiration reveals him as a fantastic player: he has invented three poets who shamelessly pour elegies onto the page, delightfully tighten themselves into the corset of anagram poetry, or revel in the robust language of a farmer: Philip Miller, Theodor Vischhaupt, and Anton Brant. Jan Wagner himself acts as the editor, contributing biographies and scholarly commentary. A delightful game and at the same time the discovery of three poets not to be underestimated.
