Product details

Berlin, October 2012, a woman has disappeared. Theresa, born in East Germany, was raised by foster parents because her own parents were imprisoned as opposition members. In the 1970s, she gains access to secret archives of the GDR as a historian - shocking, incredible documents lie before her. Theresa is sidelined, and this remains the case, as her knowledge is extremely dangerous after the fall of the Wall in 1989. Reinhard Jirgl tells of an unknown German history: The major bureaucratic restructuring that politics called the "Wende" has preserved what was thought to be in the past: networks, organizations, enmities. Yesterday does not end with tomorrow.
