From the middle of her life, Ulrike Draesner narrates her bodily sensations and her experience of aging as a woman. Through significant experiences ranging from childhood to puberty, menstruation, motherhood, and menopause, she describes, both confidently and intimately, the experiences and transformation processes of the female body. In doing so, she reflects on societal conventions regarding sexuality and aging individuals, drawing from her family history, and envisions menopause as a new beginning into a "flourishing age.".
