Angelika Landmann's Short Grammar explains the fundamentals of the Uzbek language concisely, clearly, and understandably. The content, systematically organized by grammatical categories, is illustrated with tables and example sentences from everyday language. This grammar is aimed at both individuals who already have knowledge of Uzbek and linguistically interested readers without prior knowledge who want to quickly gain an overview of the language's structures. The structure is based on Landmann's Turkish Short Grammar, also published by Harrassowitz, allowing for a comparative study of the two Turkic languages. Additionally, the grammar includes an appendix with overviews of the most common suffixes, the declension of nouns, Uzbek verb forms, German subordinate clauses, and their Uzbek equivalents.
