Product details

An old tunnel construction rule states: Every kilometer claims a life. In Kurt Lanthaler's cult crime novel, the corpse is already there before the tunnel: During construction work for a railway tunnel at the Brenner Pass, a body is blasted out of the solid rock. No one can explain how it got there. The only clues lie in the briefcase of the deceased. And that briefcase belongs to Tschonnie Tschenett, a part-time truck driver with a penchant for sticking his nose into all sorts of obscure matters. It's no surprise that he gets himself and his friends into trouble once again. Soon, Tschonnie Tschenett finds himself dealing with real estate speculators, Nazis, and other unsavory characters. He discovers that major construction projects cast long shadows ahead—a realization that can only be confirmed with the start of the Brenner Base Tunnel construction over 15 years after the first edition.
