The people's inspector Pawel Dobrynin was once chosen by the village community as the only honest farmer in the village to fulfill a great task for the construction of Soviet land. Now he lives in the city of Krasnoretschensk. But then he is dispatched to a remote location in the mountains, where he will now oversee the production of artificial meteorites, which are meant to secure the Soviet Union's absolute power in the world.
