Product details
Set against the real backdrop of the crash of Fuerza Aerea five seven one in the 1970s, Jürg Amann shapes his parable of humanity as an allegory of life and death beyond morality and taboo: It begins with a plane crash in the midst of the glacier desert of the Andes. What follows is the struggle for life and survival of those who have seemingly escaped hell, those who at least physically emerge unscathed from the wreckage of the ill-fated aircraft. They fight with each other, against each other, some at the expense of others. What are they to eat in the merciless height and cold of eternal ice, before the search teams find them? If they find them at all? How far can, how far may a person go while still remaining human? Where does the human horizon lie? And where does love fit into all of this?.
