Franz Kafka wanted to let his land surveyor K. die of exhaustion after all his futile attempts to reach the castle in his unfinished novel "The Castle." The Austrian writer Marianne Gruber has not let this rest. She embarks on a project that will spark heated discussions: she completes "The Castle" in her own interpretation, or rather: she uses Kafka's novel as a backdrop and canvas for her text.
