Franz Kafka wanted to let his land surveyor K. die of exhaustion after all his futile attempts to reach the castle in his unfinished novel "The Castle." The Austrian writer Marianne Gruber has not let this rest. She embarks on a project that will spark heated discussions: she completes "The Castle" in her own interpretation, or rather: she uses Kafka's novel as a backdrop and canvas for her text. Before our eyes, she allows K. to rise again. As his own reincarnation or double, she sends him once more on the path that leads into the castle in her version. Much to the dismay of the village and its inhabitants, who see their peace and order disturbed.
