Expressing oneself succinctly requires clear thinking. Being simple and telling a story in one sentence is an art in which feelings like unrequited love, longing, and melancholy do not devolve into sentimentality. Cohesive images, metaphors, and symbols create atmospheric density, supported by her own illustrations that were created alongside her writing.
