Product details

Germany in a not-so-distant future: Lasse Wiesenthal is a successful event entrepreneur, in his late fifties and terminally ill. The doctors predict a decades-long path of suffering with a slow but unstoppable decline. Instead of resigning himself to this fate, he plans his assisted suicide as a farewell party. And this becomes a business idea: dying as the ultimate event! Payments can be made with money or organs, as both assisted suicide and organ trade have been legally liberalized. He builds an event center called Heaven's Gate, which is also partially funded by health and pension insurance. Unfortunately, like many large construction projects, the completion is delayed by years: protests, environmental protection issues, shoddy work, illegal workers, the mafia, unexploded bombs, fraud—everything that can go wrong does go wrong.
