In the following work, I initially examined the seals that Staerk dealt with and subjected them to literary-critical and rhythmological scrutiny. However, I have partially extended the work beyond Staerk's scope, particularly regarding all the multi-line Jacob sayings in Genesis 49 and the entire Song of Deborah. I did not conduct these investigations merely to satisfy rhythmological interest. Rather, it was my aim, although that interest naturally took precedence, to process the texts in question—at least the majority of them—in such a way that criticism and exegesis of these texts would also benefit. Thus, I truly hope, as I expressed in the title of the work, to make a beneficial contribution to Old Testament research in three ways, which may be aside from the high importance of the question.
