The white flowers of a bouquet in the exhibition space are suspended with delicate threads. In the work of Heike Beyer, who is entirely devoted to contemplation, one senses "instead of vanity, an immediately engaging friendliness and sympathy," as the daily newspaper FAZ wrote on the occasion of the exhibition at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne in 2004. The works carry their ephemeral character, but they do so with solemnity, the FAZ continued, as the artist adorns the spaces and halls with her art, more than she simply installs it there. However, the work of the Städelschule graduate, born in Siegen in 1967 and now living in Cologne, does not focus solely on the theme of decoration, nor on the ephemeral or the illusion of appearance, but rather on processual changes.
