Certainly, not only doctors but also some others have raised the question: For what reason and with what authority has Brandt dedicated himself to the gymnastic treatment of female pelvic disorders, and is this not a bold criticism of other medical treatments? To this, I could respond quite calmly: If gymnastic treatment is recognized as particularly useful and effective for a variety of diseases affecting different organ systems, it should be easy to understand that, since the human body is a cohesive whole, with its individual parts interacting and influencing each other, the same principles must apply to the treatment of pelvic conditions.

However, I would like to attempt to show how I have been guided forward without any preconceived notions of my own.
