Gül took days to reach Germany, and she still doesn’t know that the years will flow by like water until her house in Turkey is built and she can return. Until then, she experiences all kinds of longing: for her two daughters, for her father, the blacksmith, for scents, colors, and fruits. Yet, imperceptibly, the road home in this cold, incomprehensible land becomes another home. "Your life will pass in foreign lands," they warn her. But the whole world is foreign when one is not with their loved ones. If her daughters are well, Gül feels as if life has no more boundaries. Those who know her patient optimism must agree with a friend's sigh: "Thanks be to the Lord for this heart, in which there is room for everyone.".
