High-quality string class instruction allows students in general education schools to access a challenging instrument. Practically oriented, vividly conveyed, and connected to personal experiences, it fosters enthusiasm for instrumental learning and sustainably anchors musical education across many fields. The proven concept of "String Class" is designed for beginner instrumental instruction in grades 5 and 6, structured around 3 hours of music lessons per week in large and small groups, led by a team of two teachers. It combines teaching according to the principles of constructive music education with those of Paul Rolland's method. The exploration of musical pieces from various styles and eras goes hand in hand with developing good playing technique and building competence in rhythm training.
