Lotte Laserstein – this is a name to remember. The artist is among the very best of the younger generation. Her brilliant rise was noted in the Berliner 8-Uhr-Abendblatt on November 29, 1929. However, this prediction took a contrary turn. Immediately after the transfer of power to Adolf Hitler, the artist felt the accompanying changes. By 1933, she was banned from exhibiting, and according to the Nuremberg Laws, Lotte Laserstein (1898–1993) was declared a "three-quarter Jew." Deprived of her livelihood and artistic recognition, she had no choice but to emigrate, which took her to Sweden in 1937. In Germany, she was long forgotten and was only rediscovered after her death, with her work being regarded as significant for a form of expression in New Objectivity.
