The history of Jewish life in Berlin is closely linked to its community school, which was founded over 200 years ago. Located in the heart of Berlin, near the former Scheunenviertel, is the current Jewish Gymnasium Moses Mendelssohn on Grosse Hamburger Strasse. This unique place in Germany tells the story of the Jewish community's emergence, its persecution, Jewish resistance, and the intercultural coexistence of today. Through previously unknown photos, archival materials, and interviews, the author succeeds in documenting and reconstructing the history of the school and its people from the past to the present. The school building serves not only as a monument but also as the starting point for an exciting excursion through Jewish Berlin.
